Cancellation Policy
Reservation cancellations are subject to the following fees:
Grace Period: Full refund if reservation is cancelled within 24hrs of booking (unless arrival date is within 72hrs)
Date Change - FREE one time only
Cancellation outside of 30 days of arrival date - Forfeit $9.00 booking Fee
Cancellation within 30 days prior to arrival date - Forfeit one night + $9 booking fee for every site reserved
Cancellation within 72 hours of arrival is non-refundable
Refund Policy
Refunds for reservation cancellations are as follows:

DAY USE:
In addition to camping, Lake Hemet offers public access to the campground for day use guests daily (hours vary by season). Day use is $25 per vehicle and affords guests with the opportunity to picnic, shoreline fish, launch personal boats or kayaks (additional fees apply) and rent boats or kayaks from our marina. If you are visiting other guests who are overnight camping with us, the $25 fee still applies.
Day use vehicles must remain at least 30 feet from the shore at all times as both a safety precaution for personal property and for the protection of our water since Lake Hemet is a reservoir.
NOTE: During our summer months, day use guests may not explore past the Camp 3 bridge and must stay in designated day use areas. The campground will be sold out each weekend, so no access is permitted in Camps 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7.
RESERVATION TERMS
- Registering guest must be at least 18 years of age with valid credit card or valid picture ID.
- A minimum stay of three (3) nights is required for all summer holiday weekends. All other reservations require a two (2) night minimum stay.
- A service fee of $9.00 per campsite, cabin, or rental unit applies to all reservation methods (online, telephone, and in-person). When making a reservation, the entire stay must be paid for at time of booking (including reservation fees).
- Guests are encouraged to pay the $10 Site Lock fee (per site) in order to secure a specific camp site. Our reservation system is optimized to increase our booking rate, so guests who elect not to pay the Site Lock fee can be moved to another site in the same category without notification as their site is considered “subject to change”.
- When booking your reservation online or by phone, you will receive a confirmation via email after your credit card has been authorized. All reservations are tentative until your credit card is charged and the confirmation email is sent to your email address.
- If you are planning to camp without a reservation, all fees are to be paid upon arrival. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Amex or Cash (in-person). Personal checks are not accepted.
- Reservation Cancellation: A $9.00 cancellation fee applies to all reservation cancellations of 30 days or more. Cancellations made between 30 days and 72 hours prior to the reservation check-in time and date will require the forfeiture of one night as a late cancellation fee. CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 72 HOURS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
- Changes within 72 hours of arrival cannot be accommodated.
- Deposit Refunds: A cancelled reservation will be refunded back to the credit card that was used to place the reservation. Refunds must be requested via email to reservations@golakehemet.com . The date of receipt by Lake Hemet Recreation Company will determine the refund due.
- Campers check-in: 2pm; check-out: 12pm. A late check out may be requested at the time of check-in for an additional fee of $35. Late check-out for campers is only available Sunday through Thursday.
- Cabins and Rental check-in: 3pm; check out: 11am. A late check-out may be requested at the time of check-in for an additional fee of $35 (schedule permitting). The late check-out time is Sundown.
- Motorcycles are permitted but may not be used for general transportation throughout the Campground. Please respect the peace and keep motor noise to the bare minimum.

- Pets are allowed on property. No more than two pets are allowed per campsite or rental space (if permitted) and must be on a 6’ leash at all times. Loud or aggressive pets will be asked to leave, including their owners. Pets are not permitted to wade or swim in the water at any time for their safety.
CAMPGROUND RULES
- No fireworks or pyrotechnics of any kind are permitted inside the campground.
- Fires are only permitted in a designated fire ring. No shoreline fires are permitted. Insure all fires are extinguished before leaving campsite or Day Use area.
- Never leave a campfire unattended. Do not place coals or burning items in trash receptacles.
- Quiet Time is from 10:00pm to 8:00am. No music, generators, loud talking or disruptive noises of any kind during this time. No exceptions.
This rule will be enforced up to and including removal from the campground. - No swimming or wading in the water anywhere outside of the designated swim beach area.
- Dogs are not permitted in the lake at any time. Dogs must be leashed at all times and the leash must be 6 feet or less. Dog owners must remain in control of their dogs at all times and dogs are never to be left unattended in a campsite or Day Use area. Please remember to clean up after your pets. Owners must have copies of vaccinations on hand.
- No launching or docking of any type of boats from the south shoreline. That side is property of the National Forestry Service and is a protected area. All boats must be inspected and launched from the Marina's launch ramp (launching fees apply).
- We do not permit the use of the following: canoes without outriggers, paddle-boards, jet skis, sail boats or inflatables of any kind.
- No glass containers along the shoreline in any camp site or Day Use area.
- This is a private Campground. California State Law prohibits intoxication in public areas; intoxicated guests will be asked to leave the campground. Do not drive any vehicle while under the influence.
- Children under the age of 18 must wear a helmet when riding bikes.
- No firearms, air guns, slingshots, or bow and arrows are allowed inside the campground.
- Dirt bikes, scooters, UTVs, ATVs, or gas golf carts cannot be operated inside of the campground.
- California State fishing licenses are required for anyone fishing, age 16 or older.
RENTAL BOAT HANDLING
- You will be shown how to start/restart the engine including: Choke position, manual choke, primer bulb, etc.
- You will be shown boat controls including: throttle, forward & reverse, etc.
- Speed limit is 5 MPH at all times; no wake.
- Boat must be returned to the same dock as it was launched from.
- Boat must be returned at the end of rental period, no later or security deposit may be forfeited.
- Boats cannot be beached anywhere on the shoreline (except kayaks). During rental period you may return to the marina at any time, then resume boating for the duration of rental period.
- Boats must stay at least 100 feet away from the shoreline, dam and spillway or any other area determined by marina staff.
BOAT SAFETY REGULATIONS
- Observe state and federal boating laws and safety regulations. Coast Guard regulations place the responsibility for the safety of the passengers and boat upon the operator of the boat.
- Wear personal flotation devices at all times when boat is in operation.
- Customer is hereby notified that the throwable device, in addition to being a cushion, is a piece of lifesaving equipment that will support a person in the water.
- No boating between sunset and sunrise.
- There are shallow water areas in the lake. Restricted boating areas must be adhered to at all times.
- Children under age 13 must wear a life jacket at all times.
- It is prohibited to operate any watercraft while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or in a reckless or negligent manner, or in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger persons or property. Non-compliance may result in forfeiture of security deposit.
- Customer acknowledges the review of upcoming weather conditions and Weather Policy.
- Exceeding the maximum passenger capacity may result in forfeiture of security deposit, and/or citations from law enforcement agencies.
- Damage to boat and/or equipment, violation(s) of the rental contract, and/or rules/regulations of the lake may result in forfeiture of renter’s security deposit, and/or citations from law enforcement agencies. Renter’s liability is not limited to the amount of security deposit.
- All accidents, wherein damages to the boat exceed $200.00 or involves another vessel or there is damage to other property or equipment, regardless of amount, must be reported to local law enforcement authorities for immediate investigation.
- Prohibited: Barbecuing on-board any rental boat, containers of fuel on-board, alcohol on-board, transportation of personal watercraft and/or heavy equipment, swimming from rental boat.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
FOR CAMPING AT LAKE HEMET
Camp Site Check-in is at 2pm and check-out is at 12pm
Cabins/Glamping Tents/Rentals Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am
Our front gate closes between 5-9pm each night depending on the day, and no guest vehicles will be permitted entry (even with gate code) from 10pm to 7am each day while quiet hours are being observed.
All campsites must be set up no later than 10pm each night when quiet hours begin, as a courtesy to those around you.
Guest limits per site: Tent & RV Sites - 8 Guests. Cabins & Rentals - 6 guests Glamping Tents - 4 Guests
Onsite parking is included for one vehicle at each site booked. A second vehicle may be added to each site for $25 per night.
Any additional vehicles must be parked in our overflow parking lot just outside our front gate for $15 per night.
Group Camp sites are limited to the following number of vehicles: Group A - 16 Group B - 8 Group C-12
All additional vehicles for group camp sites must be parked in our overflow parking lot for $15 per night.
Every camp site here is outfitted with its own picnic table and fire ring (firewood available for sale at our market)
Please bring your own BBQ or grill for cooking.
Water spigots are located throughout the campground for public access to potable water.
Forget something? Our onsite market has everything you need and more.
Generators are permitted but can only be operated from 8am to 10pm.
Quiet hours are strictly enforced between the hours of 10pm to 8am.
Fishing is free with your camping reservation but guests 16 and older must have a valid CA fishing license.
Shoreline fishing is open from 5am to 10pm for all overnight campers. Vehicles must remain at least 30ft from the water

Swimming and wading in the water is strictly prohibited outside of our dedicated Swim Zone (open Memorial Day to Labor Day)
Due to occupancy, overnight guests will be asked to select one swim time for entry each day:
1st Session 11am to 2:30pm
2nd Session 3:30 to 7:00pm (swim zone may close as early as 6pm if occupancy is low).
The Swim Zone is ONLY available to overnight guests. No visitors or day useday-use will be granted access to it. without the express permission of staff.
The Splashing Eagle Swim Zone does not contain inflatables - Guests are welcome to bring their own favorite water toys. Swim Zone rules and restrictions can be found at https://www.waterpark
Please make sure to review our terms and conditions before arrival. All campers, their pets, and guests must abide by these inside the campground at all times.
The following are additional campground rules for you to know and respect during your stay:
SPEED LIMIT - The Speed Limit Inside the campground is 5 MPH. Guests who fail to respect and abide by the posted speed limit may be asked to leave the campground.
FIREWORKS – There are no fireworks or pyrotechnic devices of any kind permitted in the campground
CAMPFIRES – A fire ring is provided for each camp site. Fires are only permitted inside the fire rings provided. Fire rings may only be moved with permission of our staff and no shoreline fires are allowed. Please ensure all fires are extinguished before leaving your campsite or Day Use area! Never leave a campfire unattended and do not place coals or burning items in trash receptacles.
QUIET HOURS – No loud activity, noises, music, bright lights or generators during the hours of 10PM TO 8AM each day as a courtesy to all guests.
DOGS – All dogs must be leashed at all times with a 6ft or smaller leash and must remain under their owners’ control at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the water and may not be left unattended at a campsite. Please make sure to clean up after your pets and bring vaccination records with you during your camping stay for any dogs you have with you.
BOAT & KAYAK LAUNCHES – Personal boats and kayaks may only be launched from our marina after inspection and payment of the personal launch fee. All vessels must be at least 10 feet in length. Inflatable kayaks, rafts, paddle boards, peddle boats, and jet skis are not currently permitted at Lake Hemet.
WATER ACCESS – The south shore of Lake Hemet (opposite the campground) is off limits to guests by water and land. It is a federally protected area for our nesting bald eagles and trespassers will be fined and removed from the campground. Additionally, all boats and kayaks must remain at least 100 feet from both the damn and the spillway at the west side of the lake.
NO GLASS – Please refrain from bringing glass items near the shoreline.
ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION – Lake Hemet is a private campground and we permit the consumption of alcohol here onsite for guests age 21 and over. California State Law prohibits intoxication in public areas, however, so we reserve the right to remove any intoxicated guests from the property. Inside the campground guests may not drink and drive a vehicle or golf cart while under the influence. Alcohol must be consumed within your own campsite.
BIKE RIDING – Children age 17 and under must wear a helmet when riding a bike inside the campground.
SITE LIMITS – Each regular campsite here can accommodate up to 8 guests – 2 tents and 2 vehicles. The first vehicle is free and the second vehicle is $25 per night. Any additional vehicles must be parked in overflow parking outside the front gate.
FIREARMS - No Firearms, air guns, pellet guns, slingshots or bow & arrows are permitted in the campground. We have an onsite Sheriff’s station should there be any need for armed support.
FLAGS/SIGNS -We kindly ask that flags and signs with explicit language, obscene imagery, hate speech, or racist symbolism not be flown or displayed at Lake Hemet.
SPECIAL VEHICLES & MOTORCYCLES - Dirt bikes, motorbikes/scooters, RZR's, I-ITV's Or ATV's cannot be operated In the campground. Only electric golf carts are permitted in the campground.
FISHING – Fishing is free here with a valid CA fishing license. A license is required for anyone 16 or older. Guests overnight camping can fish from the shoreline from 5am to 10pm daily. Vehicles must remain at least 30 feet from the water line.
WASHING – Guests are not permitted to wash dishes at campground spigots. Please dispose of waste water at dumps provided.
